Finding Our Groove

Finding Our Groove

Today felt like we were settling into a good routine. We got 15 pages of discharge instructions when we came home on Tuesday. That felt like a lot. But just a couple days in (with a little help from AI) it feels like we've got a solid hold of tracking and managing Kate's post-operative medications. And then there's the diet and supplements that Kate is doing on top of all that on her own to help her body heal. It is a LOT to keep track of!

The picture is from making a raw juice concoction from fresh veggies that Kate is trying to drink regularly. She's also taking a lot of natural supplements and trying to focus on healthy eating. It's a lot to take on in the midst of a difficult recovery, but if you know Kate, you know that she wouldn't do it any other way. She's also being realistic and taking the long view. During recovery she's allowing herself to enjoy all the great meals and treats friends have been bringing while also introducing some of the new dietary practices she wants to do long term.

Kate is also enjoying all the beautiful flowers from friends and family. We have them set up at the end of her recliner so she can enjoy them all day - just below the TV where she can also enjoy the World Cup! 😄

Thanks for your continued prayers, calls, texts, and comments here on the blog. Thankfully we don't have a lot more to share as we find our way into "recovery normal," but we'll be sure to keep you updated as things progress.
